EDUCATIONAL HISTORY:

  • B. A. Cornell College, 1969 with double major in chemistry and physics. 
  • Ph.D. in chemical physics from Indiana University in 1975.
  • Postdoctoral Assistant at IBM Research (Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, New York) 1975-76. 
  • National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, 1976-77.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

1. Theoretical Chemistry including ab initio calculation of molecular energies and modeling of chemical reaction pathways.

2.  Chemical Education including methods for teaching chemical concepts to non-majors, K-12 students, and the general populace.

3.  Teacher training with specific reference to training teachers in science and mathematics.

  • Summer Academy programs funded by grants from the Oklahoma Regents of Higher Education totaling 600,000.
